Minimalist design

I am in the midst of designing two web sites - One for CentrePoint Ministries in Fort Edward, New York, and another for Children's Orthopedic Center in Richmond, Virginia. At the same time, I am looking at some fairly major changes in my own Quarry House site for the new year.

Before I began, I spent some time looking over a 10 year portfolio of web sites, and realize I have been steadily moving towards a more minimalist vision of web sites. I have my own vision of what a minimalist site is, but I decided to do some research on the subject to learn perhaps, how to do minimalism more effectively.

In doing that, I came on this entry from Web Design Depot, that is about the nicest, most concise outline of what minimalism is in web design, and what are the major considerations. Good reading!
