Poem: West Pawlet

West Pawlet
The rain has fallen like mist for days
and this morning, the sun broke free,
lighting the town in colors,
exposing every flaw and charm,

and you walk,
the humid air reminding you
that at any moment,
the rain can return, and so you stop,

and savor.
You breathe in the light,
soul dancing
to music only you can hear.

Vermont is a rainy mess this past week - rain every day for a week. But here and there, the sun has come out, and I've made a point to stop and paint that sun drenched picture in my mind, so I could overlay it over the gray reality (because it is supposed to rain most of this week too.). And from that, this picture, captured Thursday morning, and this poem, written this morning.

As always, you can click on the picture for a larger version. It's a shot of my little town in Vermont, West Pawlet.
