Poem: The Art of Self Exposure

The Art of Self Exposure

It is slow,
a deathly climb,
a tightrope dance
in darkness

with the dawn slithering
towards you, each moment
reveling your truest
beauty, your truest

until you stand,
sun reflecting off your soul
in a place where
you will remain frozen forever, or

you leap into the abyss
for the audience to see

This poem was written after reading this article on "The Art of Self Exposure" on the Oprah web site.

The picture was taken at Carowinds, near Charlotte, NC, on a recent trip with my son's middle school band. You can click on it for a larger version.

I know I have not been "present" here recently, but I must say Tom, you never fail to delight and surprise.
Thank you for your kind words regarding my Gracie girl.
