Poem: A Winter Without Snow

A Winter Without Snow

It is winter,
cold and dry.
The skies are dark,
and wind pulls at the bare tree limbs.

It is winter,
and there is no snow,
no comforting white blanket
to hide the painful bitterness.

It is winter,
stark and real,
and you are thankful,
for the warmth

of these four walls
of faith, love, hope,
and yes, the harsh truth
of winter.

Yes, winter has arrived in all it's harsh truth. For now, we'll blanket over it with Christmas : )

Derrick - I understand you have been slammed with winter weather up there. We got our first real snow last night. It's winter!
