Poem: Changing Light

Changing Light

It is time to move the furniture around,
to rediscover the unfamiliar,
wake to new colors, adjust

to what you did not expect,
time to hope, fear, but
not to know, to walk

deep into the fog of morning,
waiting for the sun to break through
and show you

what the day will bring.

My life is particularly unsettled these days, with change coming from many directions, and so this poem, and others like it, seem to be part of what is emerging.

The picture is of my dining room last winter, just after I finished painting. You can click on it for a larger version.
