Thoughts: Creativity Calms

OK, when I get creative, I get into sort of a zone, which I have always thought of as intense. Yet, this article argues, with some real science behind it, that creativity is a calming thing. It uses water color painting and it's effects on executives as an example.

I am always interested in what other creative people think on things, so how about sharing your thoughts.

For me there is a really big lightbulb moment when I get "the idea"! Wild or quiet, let science measure and judge. Creativity for me is the place where I have no doubt who I am. I love myself most when I do art!!!Not the ego, but the soul of me.
Thanks for the idea!

I think the fact that creativity takes us into that "zone" and away from reality, is what causes it to be calming. I am so focused on what I am creating, that the rest of the world temporarily disappears. After this respite, I re-enter the world refreshed. Creativity also allows our minds to wander, unencumbered. Whereas most of the day, our minds are constrained by time and duties. Thought provoking topic!
