Before and AfterBefore,
and after
the storm,
there is always sunlight.
=============
I was driving from Vermont to DC yesterday and got caught in terrible thunderstorms as I drive - three of them involved hail, so much the ground was white with it. But before and after the storms, was brilliant sunlight, and that got me thinking about how the same is true in life, and that got me thinking about a poem. Short, but then... it's a simple thought.
The picture was taken in Wells, Vermont. You can click on it for a larger version.

don't forget about 'during'. i love watching the raw power of a storm, freightening as it may be at times...
Tom, short but powerful like the storm. Two weeks ago, the sun was shining on all my flowers and trees, the sky went dark a, a powerful wind rolled in first delivering a blast of hailstones likethe ones you saw and then heavy rain. Afterwards, leaves and blooms looked as if they had been through a shredder. No warning--and the landscape changed dramatically.
I love the raw power of storms..energy boiling over..as long as there's no damage..Lovely photo..can I buy a jar of that luscious looking honey?
Hi Tom,
Yesterday, when driving home from Newcastle, it chanbged from a beautifully sunny day to torrential rain - but fortunately no hail! I suppose one is intended to help us appreciate the other!
Thought provoking little poem, Tom. Nice. I love the fresh, sunny pic, too. Did you buy some of that luscious honey?
Simple, Yet Intricate...just like the before & after in weather and our lives.
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.--Proverbs 10:25
Hi Tom
My kind of poem....one that allows the imagination free reign to create its own picture through the powerful evocation of a few words.
and I love the sunlight during a rainburst...
and I love to see the storm in the distance on the way...
and I love the way the pink gallahs herald the coming storm...
and I love to hear the rumble of it as it approaches...
Lovely
Thanks Tom
Happy Days
Here's to just the right amount of sunlight and storms!
