A poem by Peter Sacks

A poem by Peter Sacks from my "Poetry Speaks" calendar, that sits on my desk and sang to me this morning....

On the Path

This morning on the path
the word bereft broke open

Calm, yet easily startled, cautious,
strenuous at work, yet laughing,

cresting, loving beauty,
beautiful yourself - elate.

I thought there would be greater
knowledge in the end.

The photo was from the D&H Train Trail in Rupert, VT. It seemed to capture the idea of a journey. You can click on it for a larger version.
