Poem: Rain in Venice
Rain in Venice
It is raining, and you can hear
the wind beyond the walls,
wind you remember with fear,
wind that once swirled about you
on an open sea, tossed you
like a leaf in the maelstrom
leaving you senseless, dizzy,
without direction, lost,
unable to escape
your own thoughts, unable
to see beyond the clouds and rain
even after they had passed.
It is raining,
and the memory is still vivid,
yet
now you can step back,
confident of the walls that stand between
you and the open sea,
confident that you may rest tonight
letting the rain lull you to sleep
as you dream, not of shipwrecks,
but of the coming dawn.

Hi Tom,
Nice not to tossed by the elements any longer.
"letting the rain lull you to sleep
as you dream, not of shipwrecks,
but of the coming dawn."
and what could be more soothing and beautiful than that?
stunning photo.
thanks for sharing.
