Poem: Habakkuk 2:3

Habakkuk 2:3

You stand at water's edge,
at a place only imagined
for twenty years or more,
a place medieval, yet

vibrant, alive even in the quietest coves,
and you realize that dreams live here,
that this is more a place of winding narrow streets
and green water canals,

of roof gardens and sunlit plazas,
more than a destination,
It is a reminder that visions,
even those born of fiction, poetry and

imagination,
are often more true that truth,
waiting for the hand of God
to prepare you

for their coming.

Habakkuk 2:3 reads ""But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!"

Bravo! Great work. Just love the language and syntax you've employed here. A great transcription of a moment from your being to your pen. (Or whatever you write with).

To arrive at the place of one's dreams, and contemplate it..how lucky that is..here's to the poet!!

Just the poem and scripture I needed to read today. I have memories of Venice but at Christmas time almost 19 years ago. What a dream place.
